What is HTML/CSS, and how does it works?  Print this Article

HTML, which stands for HyperText Markup Language, is the predominant markup language for web pages. It allows the semantical structuring of web pages, including the placement of multimedia resources such as images, online forms, and programmable content. You can learn more about HTML here.

Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) is a style sheet language used to describe the presentation semantics (that is, the look and formatting) of a document written in a markup language such as HTML or XML. Its standards are published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). Introduced in the early 1990s, CSS became popular in website design and widely supported by browsers in the 2000s.
