My website is unavailable, what should I do? Print this Article
Your website may be unavailable for a few reasons, rest assured none of them involve any loss of data.
The most frequent reasons are:
- Your IP address has been banned.
- Your domain is not setup correctly.
- There is no index.html (or index.php) page in your website folder.
You can quicly regain acess to your website by following the steps below:
- Your IP has been banned: An IP address can be banned by our firewall for several reasons: Too much page refresh, multiple FTP connections, several failed logins to the email account... This is done to protect the server and make sure it is always available. It means that your website is only unavailable for you, and not your visitors. To check if your IP has been banned, login to your Obambu.com account, under the services tab, on the hosting account page your can "Unblock an IP". This tool will be in the lower right corner of the features.
-
Your domain is not setup correctly: Go to your Obambu.com client area, domains tab and on your domain page, go to nameservers DNS and select the default nameservers or enter our servers manually: dns1.e-c.com and dns2.e-c.om. Once done, you will have to wait a few hours for the changes to propagate.
- There is no index.html (or index.php): This situation will show a 404 error on your website. You need to upload an index.html (or index.php) page to your /public_html folder.
